St. Mellion Hotel Golf & Country Club is a rurally based club in Saltash, Cornwall, which is open to hotel guests and its members. Facilities include the refurbished gym with new Life Fitness CV and resistance equipment, as well as two eighteen hole golf courses (one at championship level), two swimming pools, aerobics studio with a full timetable of classes, beauty treatment rooms, conference and hotel facilities. Future developments include the construction of a new hotel, holiday homes and lodges for timeshare. The Club is set to host the English Open in 2008.
The only music available to members to listen to during their workout was from an old and outdated wired entertainment system, which was obsolete, and the music on the television. This meant that members at the club had to listen to the adverts too, which they didn’t like.
A new entertainment system including Audeon, the wireless cardio entertainment system, and 26” LCD TVs for the gym area, as well as satellite and Freeview receivers, an aerobics sound system for the sports hall and a refurbished PA and background music system. Commenting on their decision to use Leisure Sound Solutions, Leisure Manager, Wendy Evans said, “Leisure Sound Solutions have been very good. We needed to find a balance between getting maximum impact with the new AV system within the budget available. My predecessor dealt with Leisure Sound Solutions and was always impressed with them. They offered, and have continued to offer, good customer services and a prompt response to any maintenance issues.”

When you sell memberships it is all about impact and much of this comes from the AV solution, as kit is often much of a muchness to look at. Since the equipment was installed in July we have recruited a significant number of new members in the first month and we expect to continue this success in the coming months.” She continued. “Our members are really pleased with the system. They have waited a long time for the refurbishment but it was definitely worth waiting for. They have been really impressed with the results.”
