Royal Holloway, University of London Sports Centre offers its 1700 members a 38 stations fitness suite, aerobics studio, a 4 court indoor sports hall, as well as outdoor tennis, squash, football, rugby and cricket facilities.
The Sports Centre was keen to purchase a new background music system, as the quality of the existing system did not meet their members’ needs.
Sports Centre and Recreation Manager, Jon Clark, explained, “Our members were constantly complaining about the quality of sound in the Fitness Suite. It was clear that the music in this room and the aerobics studio was suffering because of an old system and also because the Fitness Suite has a high ceiling which affects the acoustics.”
The Sports Centre invested in a new system from Leisure Sound Solutions and was delighted with the response from their members. As a result they also decided to introduce three new 42” plasma screens for members to watch during their workouts.
Jon Clark commented, “It was clear from our members’ response to the new background music system that entertainment was very important to them so we decided to add the plasma screens. These are in addition to the integrated screens on the CV equipment as we felt that the alignment and size of these ‘fitted’ screens made viewing less accessible than larger screens at the front of the Fitness Suite.”
The plasma screens were then installed and integrated into the existing AV system by Leisure Sound Solutions.
Having received a number of comparable quotes, Leisure Sound Solutions offered the best option in terms of both price and service.
